Take me back in time.

Hi everyone! I hope you've had a wonderful week and that all of my Melbourne followers have survived the bout of freezing cold weather.

A couple of weeks ago I was fortunate enough to be asked to undertake a photo shoot with an up and coming photographer Yulia Pavlova. She asked  me to style a vintage theme, so I thought I'd use this opportunity to shoot some of my own designs that were inspired behind the 1950's.

The first look I am wearing is a jacket from my 'Sail Me Away' Suit. The skirt I designed to wear for my engagement party.  It had a matching bodice with an oversized bow at the back. I'll have to share it in a future post. The 'Sail Me Away' jacket worked really well with the skirt. The cropped knit vest I'm wearing underneath the jacket was from my very first collection. I did a series in different colours and they each had a matching cardigan.  I am wearing a floral necklace from Sportsgirl around my hair bun. The bag is vintage from my favourite shop 'Friperie Vintage.'
Let me know what you think.

SECOND LOOK
The second look I chose was completely different to the first. I wanted to combine several black and white pieces that I have designed over the years.
I am wearing the 'Petals' coat from my 'Queen Of The Sky Collection by Giovanna Scarfo'. The skirt was one of the first pieces my mum made for me many years back. I love the shape of it. She used tulle as a pedicoat to make it sit in all the right places. I made the top myself at least 5 years back. The fun musical themed braces/suspenders are from a small shop inside 'The Well' in Camberwell. The Shoes are from Charles and Keith.

If you are interested in purchasing the 'Petals' coat email me for custom made orders at scarfo.giovvanna@gmail.com.

  2. Thanks fb for your comments! It was a fun day of shooting. I actually did all the styling including my hair. The hair is such an easy style; simply half part your hair and plait across the head, then pin the end behind your hair. Then you gather a section of hair behind the clip you just placed and plait in the other direction, then pink it behind the other ear. Sorry, probably not the best explanation. It looks effective with your hair up or down. Loved your recent post by the way. xoxo
